AO approach to COVID-19
Update from the AO on its position

The potential health risk posed by COVID-19 continues to be a global concern: the AO is monitoring the situation closely.
We are committed to taking all necessary precautions to minimize avoidable risks to our staff and international community. To help achieve this, there is a temporary restriction on travel to or from China for any AO business activities. This restriction is currently in place until the end of March and affects AO faculty, officers, and staff.
The health and well-being of all those who work with us to further our mission remains our prime concern. We cannot provide individual travel advice, but encourage everyone involved with the AO to rely on reputable sources of information such as the WHO regarding risk reduction, and to follow the travel recommendations issued by the relevant national authorities.
We will keep our website up-to-date with our current position, and in the event of any significant change the affected groups will be communicated with directly.
