Dr Ivan Zderic graduated Human Movement Sciences at ETH Zurich in 2010. In 2011 he joined the ARI as Junior Project Leader in the Biomedical Development Program. In 2022 Dr Zderic successfully defended his dissertation and received a PhD at the Institute of Metal Science, Equipment, and Technologies with Centre for Hydro- and Aerodynamics "Acad. A. Balevskiā, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia/Varna, Bulgaria. As of start of 2025 he was promoted to head of the Focus Area Biomechanics and Modeling. In 2023 Dr Zderic received the Eward R. Valstar Award for the best overall oral presentation at European Orthopaedic Research Society congress. He is author of more than 110 peer-reviewed scientific publications, active reviewer for more than 15 scientific journals, and member of the European Orthopaedic Research Society, as well as the European Society of Biomechanics. Collaborating closely with clinical partners, Dr Zderic is focused on answering clinically relevant questions on bone fracture treatment, which can be addressed by in vitro or in silico biomechanical research.
