Our courses, conferences, and events

The AO is the world's leading education provider to health care professionals working in the fields of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. Each year it offers over 830 educational events around the world, supported by nearly 9,000 faculty, and attended by over 58,000 participants. To date, more than 600,000 health care professionals from over 124 countries have participated in AO courses.

AO Davos Courses 2020

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the AO Davos Courses 2020 will be a hybrid event, combining the best in on-site training with outstanding online learning opportunities.

The hybrid nature of the AO Davos Courses offers participants across the world more ways of taking part than in previous years. Educational courses are being designed to be on-site, hybrid, or online, based on the needs of the faculty and participants to ensure that hygiene regulations can be followed.

Courses and events

The AO offers a diverse range of events, symposia, and courses worldwide, featuring lectures, hands-on practical exercises, and interactive group discussions for surgeons and operating room personnel (ORP) at every stage of their career.

The AO Davos Courses are our flagship educational event: participants from all fields have the opportunity to find out about the newest approaches to education, training, and treatment, meet leaders in their fields, and also to share experiences and learn from each other.

AO courses are offered across the world, whatever your region the AO has a presence and is working to improve patient care and outcomes in trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

The AO organizes and participates in events related to its key fields of activity all across the world.

Key events include the Global Spine Congress, the eCM conference, and FACE AHEAD.

The AO is proud to be part of the scientific program at DKOU and EFORT.

Two action-packed days of knowledge exchange and networking—and having a great time—are at the core of the FACE AHEAD experience. Tissue replacement and 3-D planning on day one, complications and personalized medicine on day two. Participants will have the opportunity to meet up with peers, mingle with some of the biggest names in the craniomaxillofacial (CMF) field, and strengthen their professional network.

The best part? Eighty percent of the 40 sessions will be interactive. That means that the participants themselves will have a key role in shaping this unique event.

Global Spine Congress

The Global Spine Congress (GSC) is one of the biggest gatherings for thousands of spine surgeons from all over the world. Aside from being the only international spine congress of its kind, the GSC is unique in that the scientific program covers all pathologies, whether that be deformity, degenerative, tumour or spinal cord injury.
