The AO Orthopaedic Research Summit 2025: Uniting three conferences in Davos

The AO Orthopaedic Research Summit, running from June 16 to June 19, 2025, is set to be a landmark event in the orthopedic community, promising a week of insightful presentations, innovative discussions, and networking opportunities in the picturesque city of Davos, Switzerland. The four-day event, organized by the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI) brings together three conferences: ARI’s own ARI Orthopaedics and the annual meetings of both the European Orthopaedic Research Society (EORS) and the Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) society.
“As the field of orthopedics continues to transform, it is important that we come together to discuss how we can lead in advancing patient outcomes,” said ARI Director and Executive Director AO Foundation Research & Development Geoff Richards. “This conference is not only an opportunity for learning but also a platform for meaningful connections and collaborations. I encourage all participants to take full advantage of this unique setting to share their insights, explore new ideas, and build lasting professional relationships.”
ARI Orthopaedics itself will focus on Biofabrication this year, with Matteo D’Este, ARI’s Focus Area Leader Biomedical Materials, as conference chair. “Biofabrication is revolutionizing the ability to produce biological constructs with controlled architecture and properties. The impressive rate of progress achieved in bioprinting and other biofabrication methods has established these techniques as mainstream approaches in musculoskeletal 3D in vitro model development, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine,” said D’Este.
The ARI Orthopaedics program, including sessions on biofabrication processes, their application in the clinics, tissue models, specific musculoskeletal tissues, and emerging technologies will foster an exchange of ideas and concepts from different fields. Prominent invited keynote speakers will illustrate the latest innovations and challenges in the field.
All three conference programs will highlight cutting-edge advancements in orthopedics, featuring plenary speakers Florian Gebhard from Ulm University Medical Center, Germany, Rocky Tuan from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, China, Britt Wildemann from Jena University Hospital, Germany, and Jinah Jang from Pohang University of Science and Technology, South Korea, parallel sessions, keynote speakers within each congress, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops.
EORS symposia for sister societies and societies connected to the field will run throughout the congress.
“We are honored to announce that the guest nation for the 33rd Annual EORS Meeting in 2025 will be China. This was accepted on behalf of China by Professor Zhoujing Luo, president of the China Orthopaedic Research Society,” said Richards. Other Chinese societies such as ICMRS will also attend with symposia.
