In memory of AO Senior Trustee Carlos Arnulfo Domínguez Barrios (1956–2025)

Carlos Arnulfo Domínguez Barrios, a distinguished member of the AO Foundation community, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on March 10, 1956, Carlos was renowned for his dedication, leadership, and enduring commitment to the advancement of surgical education and collaboration worldwide.

Throughout his years of service, Carlos held numerous leadership roles within the AO Foundation. He served as a member of the AO Trauma Education Commission, chairperson of the AO Trauma Latin America Education Committee, member of the AO Trauma Latin America Board, and member of the Residents Taskforce. Additionally, Carlos was an Ex Officio Trustee and served as a member of the Assembly of Trustees.

His legacy is marked by unwavering dedication to advancing education and fostering collaboration, leaving a profound and lasting impact on both the organization and the global surgical community.

Carlos will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues for his professionalism, generosity, and steadfast support of the AO mission. The AO Foundation extends its heartfelt condolences to all who mourn his loss.
