The AO Foundation is proud to announce the renewal of a cooperation agreement, which forms the framework for its partnership with DePuy Synthes, for another five years.

This agreement allows both independent organizations to work collaboratively, based on mutual respect and a shared mission to improve patient care and outcomes through innovation and the AO’s independent global educational offerings.

"Our partnership with DePuy Synthes is built on shared trust for our areas of expertise. The value of this partnership translates into cutting edge clinical education, innovation, research, mentorship and personal development for leading experts in their field which ultimately leads to an enhanced patient journey."

Robert McGuire, AO Foundation President

The AO and DePuy Synthes both benefit from this longstanding relationship, which has changed and evolved over the decades. Core to this relationship is to continue the work they began together in 1960 to deliver world-class professional education that meets the ever-changing needs of the global surgeon community.

DePuy Synthes will also continue to be the key industry partner for the AO Technical Commission (AO TC) and its Global Expert Committees and Expert Groups in the areas of trauma and corrective surgery of the musculoskeletal system, spine, craniomaxillofacial, veterinary products and related instruments and implants.

This agreement confirms the independence of the AO and its surgeon volunteers and gives us a strong and stable foundation for our continued operations.
