AO webinar confronts a silent killer: osteoporosis
The facts are clear: As many as 80 percent of those who have already had at least one osteoporosis fracture are neither identified nor treated, and up to 20 percent of patients die in the first year following hip fractures, mostly due to pre-existing conditions.
In this webinar, leading surgeons and scientists focus exclusively on injuries to the osteoporotic skeleton.
AO Fracture Monitor
An innovative approach to individualizing patient rehabilitation in fracture care is moving closer to clinical trials. The AO Fracture Monitor, a biofeedback sensor system that continuously and objectively monitors bone healing progression, arose from discussions between Dr Markus Windolf, AO Research Institute Davos (ARI) Leader of the Focus Area Concept Development, and AO Foundation founding father and longtime AO Research Institute Davos Director Prof Stephan Perren.
