Surgeon stories: Stephen Clarke on the path to AO In-Hospital for ORP Vet Modules

Stephen Clarke is an orthopedic veterinary surgeon based in the UK.
After obtaining RCVS Specialist status in 2008, Steve worked full time in orthopaedic referral practice and since 2024 as lead orthopaedic surgeon at the Ferguson Veterinary Clinic in Scotland.
Away from work Steve enjoys spending time with his family and his two unruly Terriers. He is also a keen runner and is largely obsessed with air-cooled Volkswagens!
In his role as AO UK and Ireland VET Chairperson, Steve met Pauline Johnston, who was then the AO UK and Ireland ORP Chairperson and who has been a key ambassador in promoting AO In-Hospital for ORP. Their meeting and exchange of ideas led to the plan to collaborate on the development of the AO In-Hospital VET modules.
Watch the video interview with Steve Clarke and Mark Glyde, Chairperson of the AO VET Education Commission, to learn about the journey from the initial concept through to implementation, and how these modules contribute to proven improvements in team collaboration and clinical practice.
