AO Davos Courses 2019 leading the way in education innovation
Davos Courses innovation

The AO Davos Courses are your gateway to excellence in your field. Held from December 1-11, the courses are an opportunity for you to meet some of the world's leading surgeons, to learn from them in a high-paced face-to-face setting, and to share your experiences with them—and with your peers.

Every year, the AO Davos Courses showcase new approaches to learning, new treatment technologies, and new ways of improving your skills. The AO is at the forefront of education, innovation, and research into the treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. This annual event brings together motivated, talented, health care professionals from across the world for an unparalleled opportunity to learn from each other, share their experiences with leaders in their field, and build professional friendships that last a lifetime.
This year, AO Trauma is offering innovative master-level current concept courses, which boast an ambitious format, strive to include the latest innovations, and which have been well received.

AORecon presents two curriculum-based courses: AO Recon Course—Complex Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and AO Trauma/AO Recon Course—Comprehensive Periprosthetic Fracture Management of the Hip and Knee. Both formats have been developed in cooperation with the AO Education Institute. They mark significant steps for orthopedic surgeons on their path of lifelong learning.
At the AO Davos Courses 2019, AO Spine is building on the great success of the minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) courses offered last year, and also offers a complex cervical problems course. Over three days, from December 8-11, participants will experience teaching at an expert level in micro-decompression, endoscopy, percutaneous fixation and complex cervical spine surgery, allowing them to both improve their skills on the microscope, the endoscope and complex cervical solutions.

AO CMF will be holding two master's level courses—intense, demanding, but invigorating programs that bring together leading experts from around the globe for an exceptional learning experience. This year, AO CMF's courses have been extended to four days, to include a full day of 3-D computer hands-on planning, and the introduction of new wetlab practical exercises.
This year's AO Davos Courses also features the AO PEER Principles of Clinical Research, and AO PEER Study Management and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) – bringing you the latest in research education, as well as the chance to learn from international faculty.

Alongside these courses, there will be the chance to find out more about the latest in innovations from the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI), the AO Development Incubator (AO DI), and AO Technical Commission's Meet the Expert sessions.
In 2019, AO VET will deliver an equine course that combines wet-lab work with time on plastic models. This offers participants the chance to gain comprehensive insight into the essential treatment approach, while enabling them to enhance their understanding of how to handle soft tissue. AO VET also offers its popular and highly interactive masters course in challenges and controversies in small animal orthopedics, combining presentations, practical exercises, and case discussions – led by top experts in orthopedic surgery.

The AO Davos Courses 2019 are held from December 1-11 at the Davos Congress Center, offering a unique opportunity to learn from the best—and to join a community of health care professionals in diverse fields that spans the globe. Find out more and register now.
