The AO is constantly evolving to better meet the needs of our global network. The surgical treatment of sports injuries and other soft-tissue conditions around the joints is closely related to classical orthopedic and trauma surgery. Surgeons in this field require profound specialization to achieve excellence in patient care.

The AO is well-positioned to respond to the significant global need for unbiased education in this field. Renowned shoulder experts begin with a series of free online events on topics related to the surgical management of shoulder injuries. Of interest in particular to AO Recon and AO Trauma networks, three webinars are planned for the period October-December 2020, with more to follow in 2021.
