AO Milestones’ new digital badges verify participants’ expertise, boost visibility and credibility

AO Milestones learners now have a new way to stand out in an increasingly competitive and professional environment. With the program’s new digital badges, learners’ expertise is verified with secure, publicly recognized credentials. 

At the same time, AO Milestones’ new digital badges enhance training value by boosting participants’ visibility and credibility across professional networks and allowing them to build a digital portfolio—visible to colleagues and institutions—of their learning journey. This new benefit is now available to all AO Milestones participants.

As AO Trauma’s pathway to surgical proficiency, AO Milestones redefines orthopedic residency training by integrating modern technology and the foundational strengths of traditional medical education. The program meets the rigorous standards set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), ensuring orthopedic residents are well-prepared for the demands of today's rapidly evolving medical field.

Upon successful completion of each AO Milestones module, participants will be awarded a digital knowledge badge—an innovative and verifiable representation of their achievement and knowledge.

Digital badges are secure and shareable credentials validating the knowledge, skills, and competencies gained through completion of the AO Milestones modules. They’re tamper-proof and can be added to professional platforms—such as LinkedIn profiles, digital curricula vitae, or e-mail signatures—and offer instant proof of dedicated engagement and expertise.

Getting started
