Jorge Barla is the new AO Trauma Latin America Chairperson-elect
Jorge Barla is a graduate of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery from the Asociación Argentina de Ortopedia y Traumatología, and the University of Buenos Aires. He is currently working to obtain his PhD in Medical Science. Barla has contributed as faculty in regional, national and international activities in multiple occasions, and has held several positions within the AO: chairperson of the Argentinean council (2008-2013); regional board member as Research and Development officer (2011-2014); member of the ORP Task Force (2013-2015); member of the Infection Working Group (2014-2017); and member of the Pelvis and Acetabulum Task Force (2018-2023).
The election process was overseen and ratified by the Nomination Committee (NomCom), which has confirmed that the process was transparent, fair, and in full compliance with the AO TIB Terms of Reference. The AO TIB approved Barla’s election on March 20, 2022. AO Trauma Latin America congratulates Jorge Barla and wishes him the greatest success in his new position.
