Application and Review Process

Application Period
Opens: Nov 3, 2025
Closes: Dec 12, 2025

During this period, AO members can log in or create an account through the Faculty Engagement Portal to submit applications.
Application Steps
1. Complete Application Form (Tier 1, 2, or 3 as applicable)
2. Upload Required Documents (CV, Letter of Intent, Sponsor Forms)
3. Submit Online via AO Faculty Engagement Portal

Notifications & Reminders
Sponsors receive automatic email requests to complete sponsor forms.
Applicants receive reminders every two weeks if applications remain incomplete.
Internal staff reviewers (e.g., Debra Goldberg) receive alerts when applications and sponsor forms are uploaded.

Faculty Review

Each application is reviewed by three designated reviewers from the AO Trauma NA Engagement Taskforce.
Reviewers can enter comments and approve applications concurrently.
Approval requires all three reviewers’ sign-off.
Upon approval, applicants receive an Appointment Letter with next steps and role expectations.

Post-Approval and Engagement

Approved applicants will receive:

A formal Letter of Appointment confirming their tier level and next steps.
Access to AO Faculty development activities, mentorship opportunities, and educational events.
Guidance on advancing through subsequent tiers via continued engagement and educational contribution.
