  • AO CMF Education Commission Chairperson

    AO CMF seeks a highly motivated individual who is experienced in and passionate about education in the field of craniomaxillofacial (CMF) surgery. The successful applicant will lead the AO CMF Education Commission (AO CMF EC) members to seize opportunities in CMF education, and be a member of the AO CMF International Board.   • AO CMF Community Development Officer Asia Pacific (AP)

    AO CMF Asia Pacific (AP) seeks a highly motivated individual who is dedicated to sharing and encouraging ideas across professional and cultural boundaries. The successful applicant will become member of the AO CMF Asia Pacific Board and the AO CMF Community Development Commission, and support the development and management of a diverse, worldwide network of surgeons. How to apply

Applicants who meet the criteria listed under Requirements in the job descriptions are invited to submit their applications via the online submission system. Links for each position can be found under the Open positions section. All application forms must be completed and accompanied by with the following:

  • Signed AO Foundation Code of Ethics (to be uploaded in the application submission system)
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure (directly in the online submission system)
  • For AO CMF Education Commission chairperson position only: description (2,000 words maximum) of the candidate’s top five priorities (to be submitted under Motivation in the online submission system) if elected as AO CMF Education Commission chairperson

Applications must be submitted to AO CMF between October 18, 2024, and November 3, 2024, 23:59 (Central European Time).

Election process

Applications of candidates who fulfill the prerequisites will be selected by the NomCom and forwarded to the electorate.

  • Electorate for Education Commission Chairperson: voting members of the AO CMF International Board (AO CMFIB), of the AO CMF Education Commission (AO CMFEC), and approved AO CMF faculty (active) who have completed the Regional Education Team Training (RET).
  • Electorate for AP: Approved AO CMF AP faculty and teaching assignments in the last 5 years.
  • Electorate for ESA: Approved AO CMF ESA faculty.
  • Electorate for MENA: Approved AO CMF MENA faculty and voting members of the AO CMF regional Board. 

For all positions apply:

  • Candidates running for election have no voting right.
  • Each voting member has one (1) vote.
  • Voters must have a valid membership by the time of the election (renew your AO CMF membership by November 3, 2024, midnight CET) and be residents of the respective region (except for the AO CMF Education Commission Chairperson position).
     

Election mechanism

The first-past-the-post election mechanism with multiple runoffs will be used. If a candidate achieves an absolute majority in any round, he/she will be the winner. The candidate with the least votes will be eliminated at each round. Another round will be carried out if no candidate achieves an absolute majority. If a candidate runs for a second term and no other candidate applies for the position, a qualified majority of votes (75 percent plus one) is necessary.
This election will be conducted in November 2024. The result will be announced in spring 2025 at the latest.
