Fellowship Host Centers

The AO Spine Fellowship Program is for fully trained orthopedic and neurosurgeons, to deepen their existing knowledge and skills in spine surgical techniques. The fellowships are a unique experience and an opportunity to learn from leading AO Spine faculty surgeons at designated host centers worldwide.

Join the network of AO Spine Fellowship Host Centers

If you would like your center to join our network, please apply via the online application form demonstrating that your center meets the predefined criteria to become an AO Spine fellowship host center.

Selection criteria for AO Spine Fellowship Host Centers

  1. Adequate surgical case load, for details please refer to the host center application guidelines
  2. One AO Spine faculty who has completed at least an official AO Faculty Education Program (FEP), with an active paid membership
  3. Two Spine surgeons with an active paid AO Spine membership
  4. Affordable local accommodation close to the center
  5. Opportunities for the fellow to scrub-in, except where prohibited by local legislation
  6. Opportunity for the fellow to be called for emergencies and on weekends
  7. Minimum duration of fellowship 4 weeks up to 12 weeks 
     

The final decision lies with the AO Spine Regional Board.
