AO Spine has opened applications for the new Visit-the-Expert Program 2026, a short-term observership designed for experienced spine surgeons who want focused clinical exposure, peer exchange, and insights into advanced surgical practice.

The program offers active AO Spine members visits of up to four weeks at selected AO Spine host centers, where participants can observe clinical workflows, discuss cases with experts, and broaden their international perspective on spine care.

 

 

About the program

The AO Spine Visit-the-Expert Program is a short-term clinical Observership tailored for mid-career and senior spine surgeons seeking to further expand their expertise, gain international exposure, and engage in peer-to-peer knowledge exchange within AO Spine host centers.

This up to four-week Observership focuses on advanced clinical practice and aims to support continuous professional development through structured observation and interaction with leading experts. The program promotes innovation, best practice sharing, and global collaboration within the AO Spine community.

Financial support

The AO Spine Visit-the-Expert Program focuses on facilitating access to leading experts and centers globally. Participants arrange their own travel and accommodation, typically supported by their home institution or local funding sources.
