This exciting initiative marks another milestone in AO Spine’s mission to improve patient care by making leading-edge knowledge more accessible where it matters most: in the hospital.
Building on proven success
The launch of the spine modules builds on the success of AO In-Hospital’s trauma modules, introduced in 2022. Since then, these modules have helped AO faculty globally to deliver trusted, high-quality education at their workplace. Now, AO Spine faculty will be able to benefit from the same, flexible format.
AO In-Hospital Spine Steering Committee members Richard Bransford (United States), Alpaslan Senkoylu (Türkiye), Mohammad El-Sharkawi (Egypt), Luiz Gustavo Dal Oglio da Rocha (Brazil), and Jason Cheung (China) are proud to bring this format to the global AO Spine community.
“We sincerely thank all the editors and authors whose expertise and dedication made this launch possible,” said Bransford on behalf of the steering committee.
Why AO In-Hospital modules matter
Each module includes a complete event package that makes it convenient to plan and deliver a highly interactive and impactful event:
- Customizable format designed for one- to four-hour educational events
- Evidence-based lectures
- Clinical cases for small group or plenary discussions
- Automated pre- and post-event assessments and reports
- Automated certificates for faculty and participants
- A seamless fit
Tailored for orthopedic and neurosurgical spine residents, fellows, junior and experienced surgeons, and other medical professionals, the spine modules focus on interactive case-based learning and evidence-based content that fit the daily scenarios in the hospital environment.
Tremendous value
“This initiative brings tremendous value to our global AO Spine community,” said Bransford, who—in addition to being a member of the AO In-Hospital Spine Steering Committee—is chairperson of the AO Spine Education Commission (AO SEC). “AO In-Hospital has proven to be an incredibly effective platform for delivering relevant and practical education at the workplace.”
