  • What is the Craniomaxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction Journal (CMTR)?

    CMTR publishes primary and review articles covering all aspects of surgery of the head, face, and jaw. There are 4 issues per year. The journal covers a multi-disciplinary scope and will be of interest to specialists working in ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, dentistry, facial plastic surgery and trauma surgery. CMTR is a peer-reviewed journal and has received its first impact factor in June 2023 at 0.9

    CMTR features original research, reviews, commentaries, editorials, and technical reports pertinent to all specialties practicing craniomaxillofacial surgery. The Journal promotes communication among oral and maxillofacial surgeon, otolaryngologists/head and neck surgeons, plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists/oculoplastic surgeons, and trauma surgeons across the globe by providing an integrated and balanced view of the current clinical science in craniomaxillofacial surgery.

  • What are the publishing costs?

    With a significant APC subsidy for AO CMF members, AO CMF is sending a strong message of full support to the CMTR journal. The member APC for 2025 is CHF 900.00.

    Authors from low-income countries (LIC) can benefit from even lower fees, which have been set at CHF 650.00. To have the member APC applied, either the first or last author must be an AO CMF member for a minimum three months prior to article submission. The nonmember APC is also highly attractive at only CHF 1,500.00 per accepted article.

  • How can I submit my original work to be published in CMTR?

    In order to submit your original work to be published in CMTR, you first must carefully follow the guidelines on the journal’s website.

    After having read the guidelines and ensured your original work complies with all listed requirements, authors can submit their work at the journal’s submission site.

  • Can I place an advertisement in the journal?

    Currently, there is no option to place advertisements in the journal.
