Don't miss this opportunity to help lead the AO Spine Asia Pacific into the future. For the position of AO Spine Asia Pacific (AO SAP) Regional Board Chairperson, AO Spine seeks a highly motivated individual dedicated to sharing and encouraging ideas across professional and cultural boundaries. 

Position and terms:

 

AO Spine Asia Pacific (AP) Regional Board Chairperson

Start date: July 1, 2028

End date: June 30, 2031

Term: Single terms of 3 years

Chairperson-Elect from 1 Jul 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028

Regional Board Chairperson from July 1, 2028 to June 30, 2031

Past Chairperson from July 1, 2031 to June 30, 2032

Eligibility and requirements:

  • Current or past officer of the AO SAP regional board or Past AOSIB member two years after the end of term with active membership

Election process

All interested candidates who meet the stipulated criteria are required to submit their applications through online application system.

The application portal for this role will open on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and will close on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 23:59 CET (UTC +2).

Electorate

  • All current officers of AO Spine councils and Regional Board within AP (excluding members at large)
  • Voters must have valid membership by the time of the election

Voters are required to renew their AO membership latest by September 1, 2026, at 23:59 CET (UTC +2).

Voting mechanism

Applications will be reviewed by the Nomination Committee, the voting process also will then be ratified by the Nomination Committee.

  • Candidates running for election have no voting right
  • Each voting member has one (1) vote
  • Simple majority (> 50% of casted votes) by anonymous e-voting

If none of the candidates reaches the simple majority of votes, an additional round with the candidates combining a minimum of 50% of the votes is run. Another round is carried out if no candidate reaches a simple majority. No abstain vote is possible for any election.
