Meet the new AO Spine Latin America Research officer

Following the elections held last February 2024, the AO Spine Latin America Board is pleased to announce the result of the election for the position of Research Officer. The new elected member will start his term on July 1, 2024.

 The candidate was examined by the Nomination Committee formed by Juan Emmerich, Ratko Yurac, and Marcelo Valacco. The election process was overseen and ratified by the Nomination Committee (NomCom), who confirmed that the process was transparent, fair, and in full compliance with the AO Spine International Board (AO SIB) Terms of Reference, and approved by the AO SIB.

Over the next 3 years, Guiroy will work in his role to advance AO Spine Latin America as the premier knowledge provider in spine surgery and its position at the forefront of education and research.

Alfredo Guiroy is a Spine Surgeon at Clinica de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. He is also the Director of the Spine Unit at Clinica Cuyo. Graduated from the National University of Cuyo. Until the start of his new position, he is the Education Neurosurgery Officer of AO Spine Argentina. He is currently the Director of Clinical Research at Elite Spine Health and Wellness Center from Florida (USA) and Director of the spine specialist course of the Argentine Association of Neurosurgery.
