The best of Global Spine Journal 2024
Highlights of the year in review
As the year ends, we would like to celebrate by looking back at the highlights and recognizing the top articles and awards of the year. In June, we could announce yet another increase to the impact factor to 2.6. If you are interested in getting involved in the success story and reviewing for the Global Spine Journal, please contact Managing Editor Danielle Lieberman.
We published three focus issues this year:
- AO Spine & Praxis Spinal Cord Institute Guidelines for the Management of Acute Spinal Cord Injury
- AO Spine Guideline for the Use of Osteobiologics (AOGO) in Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion for Spinal Degenerative Cases developed by AO Spine Knowledge Forum Degenerative
- What Motivates Treatment Decisions in Neurologically Intact Thoracolumbar Burst Fractures?
A new series of AO Spine Knowledge Forum review articles was launched in September. The articles aim to help busy clinicians stay up to date with the latest evidence based treatment recommendations and maintain their commitment to excellence, "making your patients and practice flourish". Other new special collections with hand-picked articles include AI/Novel Technologies and Physiatry and Pain Management.
2024 also saw the launch of our official Journal Club in tandem with the Seattle Science Foundation and the Virtual Spine Journal Club. This is a quarterly collaborative effort with each session discussing a different topic featuring GSJ articles. The sessions will be broadcast live online and are available to stream anytime afterwards.
