Hold your own AO Spine Proximity Activity

Bringing AO Spine activities closer to our community

Have you ever thought about organizing your own AO Spine event but faced obstacles? We have been listening to you, and with Proximity Events, we’ve made it easier than ever.

Proximity Activities are designed to be member-driven initiatives hosted at your own hospitals or similar local venues, completely free of charge. The primary goal is to eliminate barriers such as budget gathering constraints, complex approval processes, and logistical challenges.

By simplifying the organization of these events, we aim to meet your local educational needs more effectively, enhance networking opportunities, elevate your professional reputation, and provide you and your colleagues more chances to train and gain experience as faculty.

Participating in a Proximity Activity is straightforward:

  1. Read the Description and Rules
  2. Submit Your Proposal: Use the proposal submission link to upload your completed proposal.
  3. Promote and Organize Your Event: Once approved, you can begin promoting and organizing your event with confidence.

Currently, the only requirements to propose a Proximity Activity are active membership in AO Spine  and prior training as Faculty or Chairperson in the AO. In special cases, proposals by members who did not yet go through faculty training can be evaluated.

We believe that this initiative will unlock numerous opportunities and add significant value to our membership. Your involvement and contributions are vital to its success. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any clarifications or feedback.

Together, let's leverage Proximity Events to empower each other and further advance the excellence in surgical education that defines our organization.

Sincerely,

Pedro Berjano
