The AO Technical Commission is delighted to announce the Hand Expert Group (HAEG) as worthy winners of the 2026 Innovation Prize. The new system addresses important clinical challenges, allowing fixation of very distal wrist fractures without invasion of the articular space or causing post-operative soft tissue concerns. Thanks to expert guidance from HAEG members, the platform includes advanced design features that facilitate the entire surgical procedure, from fracture reduction to plate placement and screw insertion. The incorporation of VOLT™ technology allows plates to be low-profile without compromising stability or locking strength.
