New AO calls for proposals: turn your ideas into reality
The AO Innovation Translation Center (AO ITC) calls for proposals offer new opportunities to see your innovative idea become reality.
Whether you are a surgeon, medical personnel, researcher, patient, engineer, entrepreneur, or academic, if you have an idea for clinical tools or technologies that could enhance the patient journey in musculoskeletal disorders, or for educational tools, platforms, and channels that support lifelong training for surgeons, we are the right partner for you.
The AO ITC funding stream, made available through technology transfer calls for proposals, has since the creation of the AO's strategy fund and development incubator resources, dedicated more than CHF 15mil in multiple projects that span a number of years.
The technology transfer portfolio is diverse because we offer support from early ideas to complete valorization to benefit your patients. Beneficiaries of the strategy fund include the more recent digitally enhanced hands-on surgical training, OSapp, which is an interactive, virtual osteosynthesis software tool and learning platform, or the
Development and validation of a Robotic System for sacroiliac luxation reduction and fixation.
The deadlines for our two current calls for proposals are:
- January 31, 2021 for strategy fund resources
- April 30, 2021 for development incubator resources
