Dr Jan Buschbaum graduated Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern in 2010 and was awarded for the best degree. In his subsequent position as a Research Associate at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern, he focused on biomechanical modeling and simulation in a collaborative research project with the Department of Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at Saarland University Homburg/Saar. Dr Buschbaum completed this work in 2015 with his dissertation and received the doctoral degree from the Medical Faculty of Saarland University. He joined the Biomedical Development Program at the AO Research Institute Davos in 2015 as a Project Leader and was promoted to head of the Concept Development Focus Area in 2023. Dr Buschbaum's focus is on research and development of innovative solutions to improve surgical fracture treatment.
