October 7-9, 2023

A combination of evidence-based lectures, small-group case discussions, and dissection and fixation procedures on anatomical specimens will be used to deliver the content to improve knowledge and skills in the key surgical techniques and in related care. Active engagement by all participants is critical to the effective delivery of this educational event.

AO Trauma Course—Advanced Principles of Fracture Management for Operating Room Personnel (ORP)

October 7-8, 2023

This popular course celebrates its 30th anniversary this year! Participants will gain an advanced-level understanding of surgical treatment and intraoperative nursing care of complex fractures, from presentations, group discussions and practical exercises.

AO Trauma Course—Advanced Principles of Fracture Management

Targeted at those who are at the threshold of becoming independent surgeons with responsibility for treatment-decision-making in complex injuries. Through pre-and post-course online modules, practical training of various techniques, and small-group discussion of cases, participants will expand their principles and techniques of operative fracture management in more complex injuries.

This course is modular in structure and highly interactive. Short, evidence-based lectures cover the key information required. Moderated case discussions in small groups will expand on each topic and help participants to develop decision-making skills in small group discussions and surgical management skills in the anatomical specimen laboratory. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experience with peers and international faculty. All factors related to achieving the best possible outcomes in complex and revision arthroplasty will be covered.

AO Recon Course—Complex Knee Arthroplasty and Preservation (with anatomical specimen)

This course is modular in structure and highly interactive. Short, evidence-based lectures cover the key information required. Moderated case discussions in small groups will expand on each topic and help participants to develop decision-making skills in small group discussion and surgical management skills in the anatomical specimen lab. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experience with peers and international faculty. Osteotomies and ligament repair and reconstruction procedures will be covered with a focus on principles.
