AO Innovation Translation Center funding opportunities: Development incubator resources
Under the AO Innovation Translation Center, the Technology Transfer provides access to the AO's development incubator funding. We partner with inventors to achieve proof of concept (POC) and make it clinically available, whilst promoting excellence in patient care and outcomes in trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.
Development incubator funding supports inventors:
Financially:
Through investment of up to US $3 million over five years, granted by an independent board that approves proposals and consults widely with experts in relevant fields.
Know-how:
- securing intellectual property
- developing a proof of concept (POC)
- planning the POC’s valorization
Applications received are evaluated for their impact on the AO mission, and against the following criteria:
- relevance of clinical problem, and clinical impact
- technology maturity stage/feasibility
- market potential and possible commercialization path
