Center description

The Xijing Hospital is one of the best-known medical services in China, ranking the 5th in the National Best Hospitals of the Year for the past 6 consecutive years.

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery was established in 1955, with 250 beds and 98 surgeons. It is the biggest and most influential orthopaedic center in the west of China, including 7 divisions of spine, trauma, tumor, joint, paediatrics, hand surgery and sports medicine.

The spine center has 26 surgeons and 75 beds, performing over 2,500 surgeries every year. Since being approved as the AO Spine Spine Center in 2006, we have trained 30 fellows from China and abroad, and received satisfactory feedback.

The research center of our department focuses its researches on gene therapy, tissue engineering, 3D printing implants, digital technology, neural regeneration, osteoporosis, and stem cell therapy, and made remarkable achievements. Our multicenter randomized, controlled clinical trials are also at the leading position of the country.
