Innovation at the AO
The AO Development Incubator is the latest AO innovation initiative to launch
The AO Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of its latest innovation initiative, the AO Development Incubator (AO DI). This incubator fosters valuable ideas that contribute to the AO's mission. The AO DI supports inventors in building and executing project plans towards a proof of concept (PoC), with projects originating from anyone within AO or from outside the organization. The PoC should lead to a valorization of the idea.
Why has AO DI been launched?
- To support inventors in securing the Intellectual Property (IP)
- To support inventors in developing a PoC
- To support inventors in planning the PoC valorization
Open calls for application
AO DI will have at least one call a year for new proposals, each targeting different areas of expertise. PoC for a selected project should be achieved within a one to five year timeframe. The first deadline to submit a proposal for funding in 2017 is May 22, 2017. The area of focus for this call is: Improvement in patient care as it applies to orthopedic trauma, spinal conditions, craniomaxillofacial surgery and veterinary surgery.
The form must be returned before the deadline to incubator@aofoundation.org with all relevant documents.
