Technical University Varna visits AO Research Institute Davos

On May 28, 2014, a delegation from Technical University Varna (TUV), led by Prof. Ovid Farhi, Rector, together with Doc. Hristo Skulev, Vice-Rector of Research, and Dipl. Eng. Mitko Alexandrov, Vice-Rector of Management, visited AO Research Institute Davos (ARI) in the framework of a collaboration agreement signed between the two institutes.

After introductory presentations from Prof. Geoff Richards (ARI) and Prof. Ovid Farhi (TUV), a closer insight into the AO Research Institute Davos activities was gained during a tour where several demonstrations were performed. During the presentation session, the institutes detailed current and past activities in order to explain their respective capabilities.

 

Prof. Geoff Richards explains the AO principles and the mission of AO Research Institute Davos.

Both institutes expressed their wish to foster collaboration and future research work together in:

  • Preparation of joint projects for obtaining of grant funding
  • Joint scientific supervision of master and PhD students
  • Lectures by AO Research Institute Davos researchers at TUV
  • Exchange of scientific and technical information

A protocol for further collaborative steps is going to be signed as extension to the existing collaboration agreement.

Currently, two Erasmus students from TUV are non-medical guest fellows working on projects in AO Research Institute Davos within the Biomedical Services Program.​
