Dr Elena Della Bella joined the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI) in 2018 as a post-doctoral researcher in the Stem Cell Focus Area. Her main focus is the study of mechanisms of cell differentiation for bone and cartilage regeneration.

Dr Della Bella gained her master in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2008, where thereafter she did her PhD working in the Nephrology Unit at Sant’ Orsola Hospital in Bologna, with a project on chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder and the pathophysiology of vascular calcifications. From 2012 to 2017 Dr Della Bella worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at University of Bologna - Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute where she expanded her expertise in stem cells, bone, and biomaterials testing.
