AO Courses for Students

AO Kurs für Medizinstudentinnen der Universitaeten Basel und Bern: Wintersportverletzungen und operative Frakturbehandlung, 19. und 20.01.2007​​

For more than 30 years the Association for the study of Osteosynthesis (AO) has organized annual two-day courses for undergraduate students with the aim to provide insight into the techniques of surgical fracture treatment. The presentations and workshops will provide a basic understanding of the principle​s of fracture management and fixation. In the popular "hands-on" part, the participants will gain first hand practical experience with implants, screws and nails using artificial bone material. In addition the course will provide insight in current research projects related to the regeneration of the musculoskeletal system in general.

The courses are organized by the AO Research Institute Davos​ and are supported by the AO Foundation, AO Switzerland, Science City Davos​, Synthes​, and Davos Klosters Mountains​.

AO Fracture Course for Medical Students from Swiss Universities​
The course is suitable for 4th year medical students from all Swiss Universities.
AO Trauma Course for Students of the ETHZ and ZHAW​​
The course is suitable for students from ETHZ​ and ZHAW​ with main focus in biomedical engineering or biomechanics. Presentations and practical trainings provide basic knowledge in surgical fracture treatment. Par­tic­u­lar emphasis is placed on the frequently occurring winter sports injuries.
