Study Coordinator Course

AO Clinical Investigation and Documentation has developed a 3 day course which covers all the themes that every study coordinator needs to know about. The concept grew out of good experience with previous shorter courses offered and AOCID's excellent experience in dealing with study coordinators on clinical investigations.

What do study coordinators learn on this course?

  • Good Clinical Practice
  • Documentation
  • Monitoring
  • Study termination
  • Challenges of conducting clinical research and how to solve them

and many more essential topics ...

How is it taught?

The course is a rich mix of lectures and workshops so your involvement and knowledge are essential. There is also a field trip to a local hospital experienced in conducting clinical research to gain an insight into their experiences. The clinic in question is always a member of the AO Certified Study Center program.

Is there a certificate?

Yes, AOCID issues a certificate to everyone who successfully completes the training.

Is this educational event accredited by another body?

Yes, this course is accredited by the Swiss Association of Pharmaceutical Professionals (SwAPP).

When is the next course planned?

At the moment there are no plans to run this educational event. Previous courses have been held in Europe, North America and Asia. Details of events are always posted on this page once arrangements have been finalized. Don't miss out! Join our mailing list today by sending an e-mail to Marina Meuwly.

Is this course just for study coordinators?

No. While obviously study coordinators will benefit the most from the course content, previous participants have included sub-investigators and investigators. Other members of a research team such as study administrators might also find the content of interest. More details are available in the generic course outline in the 'Downloads' section of this page.

What did previous participants say?

Feedback is collected from each course attendee. Their inputs are evaluated and, if necessary, feed into a continual revision of the course content.

This course should be a prerequisite for everyone who is dealing with clinical studies.
