AO Foundation participates in the "Fiutscher" exhibition

27. November 2016

Apprenticeship programs in Graubünden presented to interested students and parents.

Together with the Graduate School Graubünden, the AO Foundation presented the opportunities of apprenticeship programs in different research institutes at this years' "Fiutscher" exhibition. A total of 400 education programs were on display and more than 3,500 visitors took the opportunity to explore the apprenticeship possibilities in Graubünden. The Councilor of States of Grisons, Martin Schmid, described "Fiutscher" as a great success in an interview with the local newspaper "Südostschweiz".

The AO presented four different apprenticeship programs: commercial apprenticeship, poly-technician, laboratory technician and computer specialist. All of them aroused the visitors' interest and justifiably so: Our apprentices create new implants for fracture treatment, test cell biological methods, build IT structures and help developing new products. The current commercial apprentice Laura Hartmann described her job as very varied and interesting. This mostly because she gets the opportunity to work in different departments during her apprenticeship where she can improve her English skills and gain insights into different working areas, such as accounting, reception and events.
