Christoph Lindenmeyer takes office as AO's new CEO and Vice-Chairman



Christoph Lindenmeyer has taken office as AO Foundation CEO and Vice-Chairman of the Board​. Effective January 1, this appointment follows his longstanding involvement with the AO Foundation as Member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit and Remuneration Committee.

Chris has a strong international business background and joins the AO after 35 years with the Schindler Group (Elevators and Escalators). During his time with Schindler, he held a number of senior positions, including CFO North America, President East, Middle East, India, and Africa, and most recently Chairman of the Board of Schindler Management AG.

In addition to this, Chris has played an active role in Switzerland's economic and public life for many years, including positions such as Chairman of the International Economic Relations Commission at economiesuisse, Vice-Chairman of Swissmem (Switzerland's industry association), and as a Member of the Executive Committee of Switzerland Innovation​.​

Chris is currently Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of swisscontact (a Swiss non-profit organization for technical cooperation with developing countries) and he is also Chairman of the Board of three Swiss industrial SMEs.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said "It was an honor to accept this appointment as CEO, and I am looking forward to serving the AO in this new capacity, building on my experience with the AO over recent years. As a truly global organization synonymous with excellence, we at the AO have a unique position and unparalleled opportunities for growth, including thanks to our relationship with our industrial partner Johnson & Johnson." Chris also identified several priority areas for his time as CEO, including digital transformation, lean processes, transparency, and strengthening the AO's position in China.​

Married with two sons, Chris lives in Zug, Switzerland, and enjoys spending his free time relaxing in the Canton of Grisons. Away from work he is a family man who enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and golf.

To the AO he brings a proven track record in successful international development, a passion for raising it profile globally, and the ability to foresee and respond rapidly to emerging trends.
