AO to have strong presence at 20th EFORT Congress

The 20th EFORT Congress, the largest platform for European orthopedics to exchange knowledge and experience with colleagues from all over the world will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from June 5-7.

The combined AOTrauma-AORecon Symposium on Periprosthetic Fractures on June 5 will be a highlight of this year's event. This stimulating symposium addresses overlapping topics between trauma and arthroplasty. Both AOTrauma and AORecon are committed to delivering the highest quality education across the continuum of care, whether the treatment of choice is fixation or replacement. World-renowned leaders from both subspecialties join forces to deliver the best of both fields to you.

George Babis and Fares Haddad will welcome participants to the symposium on periprosthetic fractures at 10:30 on June 5. During the event, Fares Haddad will look at the epidemiology, risk factors, challenges, outlook, and classification of periprosthetic hip fractures. George Babis will focus on periprosthetic fractures around the hip, followed by an insightful consideration of periprosthetic fractures around the knee from Karl Stoffel. Carsten Perka will look at what not to do in the treatment of periprosthetic fractures – followed by a discussion of the issues touched on.

The AO booth can be found in the exhibitors' area (2045A), offering further information about education, research, innovation, and community development opportunities for AOTrauma members, as well as further information about all areas of AO activity.

The European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT) is the platform organization linking Europe's national orthopedic associations.
