AO Invest's Pitch and Preach connects start-ups with the AO community

AO Invest's Pitch and Preach pitch contest, held during the AO Davos Courses 2018, brought promising start-ups that share AO’s mission to Davos. Over 100 people gathered in the Hard Rock Hotel's Chapel venue to listen to six entrepreneurs pitching the latest technology in digital health and medtech to an audience and expert jury.

"We are really going back to AO's roots here. 60 years ago, the AO's founders were early social entrepreneurs, determined to change the status quo. Together, they not just revolutionized trauma care but improved treatment for millions of people. Our goal now is to find this generation's pioneers, " said Dominik Mayer, Principal at AO Invest

Two of the competing start-ups work in the medtech sector and four in digital health. The bar was set high, and first place went to Medbelle, a company seeking to revolutionize the way patients interact with the health care system by digitizing the entire patient journey.

This was the first time that AO Invest had hosted this type of event at the AO Foundation's flagship educational event, the AO Davos Courses. The evening saw lively debate and gripping discussion of issues that matter most in the health care sector – improving outcomes, reducing costs, and ensuring that the patient is always center stage.

This new interactive event drew significant interest from the broader AO community, as well as from start-ups active in health care.
