About
The AOAA helps to attract and hold the interest of leading young trauma surgeons. This Association affords a channel of communication between committed surgeons and the AO bodies. It encourages the development and progress of fracture management through the experiences and ideas of its members throughout the world. Furthermore, its objective is to update the Alumni on current AO trends and activities in the fields of research, development, education and documentation.
The AOAA Colombia is an organization founded by a group of friends interested in the management and care of patients with trauma and disorders of the musculo-skeletal system.
The Colombian Chapter was established in October 15, 1993 by a group of Orthopaedic Surgeons during the 38th National Orthopaedic and Trauma Meeting in Bogotá.
On April 9, 1994 the group held its first meeting at the Club Médico in Bogotá and since then it has grown into a multi-specialty group of 69 members, including orthopaedic, trauma, spine, hand and maxillo-facial surgeons.
The AOAA Colombian Chapter counts 82 members (February 2010).
