Mission


The AO Socio Economic Committee (AO SEC) represents the social conscience of the AO Foundation. Its primary goal is to improve the care of the injured in developing countries by conducting or facilitating teaching even​​​ts and programs as well as by supporting the training of individuals involved in the programs.​​​​​​

Objectives and S​trategy


The objectives of AO Socio Economic Committee (AO SEC) are to support and improve education by providing training for surgeons, nurses and other health­care professionals; initiate medical education p​​rojects; supervise and financially support education projects and finally make education projects self-sustainable through training local faculty and working with local authorities. Projects and Events


SEC supports a variety of programs such as long-term orthopedic residency training, short-term fellowships or research projects on ORIF in HIV positive patients for surgeons and ORP.

Courses and Workshops
