AO eLearning
You can use AO’s eLearning offering in two ways: either as part of an educational program (eg in preparation for an AO course), or as a standalone educational activity.
Flash is needed for most of the eLearning activities below, so please make sure it is installed on your computer.
AOTrauma Principles Program eLearning
The AOTrauma Principles Program emphasizes basic treatment principles in operative management of the most common human fractures based on application of the AO Principles. This program is the initial step along the path of lifelong learning in the area of operative fracture management.

AOTrauma Independent eLearning
C-arm and radiation
Author: Michael Kraus. Editor: Florian Gebhard.
Using state-of-the-art technology, AO Education and AOTrauma present a pioneer product that is unique to the field of orthopaedics: an interactive video on C-arm and radiation. Time: 4 minutes.
The interactive video as a teaching method has been very successful, especially in the fields of health and safety, where it has significantly helped in terms of error-prevention. But, while most training focuses on error reduction, this program is based on the understanding of how the brain processes information and focuses on error “recovery” , instead. An interactive simulation like this one presents errors for the viewer to detect and is a more effective way to teach, learn, and retain the material.
